High Court Judge Calls for Need for Speed in Dieselgate Legal Battle:

Buckle up, folks, because the legal battle over the Dieselgate emissions scandal is about to get a kick in the pants! A High Court judge has made it clear that she wants to see things moving faster.  Mrs Justice Cockerill is urging all the legal teams involved to cut through the red tape and get these cases moving.

What's Happening:

Need for Speed: The judge is basically saying, "Let's stop dragging our feet!" She wants the lawyers representing over 1.2 million vehicle owners and the 16 car manufacturers involved to cooperate more and streamline the process.

Ford Joins the Front Line: In a big development, Ford's case will now be a "lead claim," alongside Mercedes. This means their cases will be heard first, setting the stage for how the rest of the lawsuits might play out.

More to Come: Decisions on other "lead claims" involving manufacturers like Vauxhall/Opel and others are expected in March.

Trials on the Horizon: A first trial, possibly involving Mercedes, could happen as early as February 2025!

Why This Matters:

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied: This push for faster progress is good news for the millions of car owners who believe they were misled about their vehicles' emissions.

Industry-Wide Impact: The outcome of these cases could have major implications for the entire automotive industry.

Stay Tuned for Whats Next:  We'll be keeping a close eye on these developments. With potential trials on the horizon and a judge eager to see progress, 2024 is shaping up to be a pivotal year in the Dieselgate saga.
